Ewan McGregor and Mary Elizabeth Winstead brought their onscreen romance into the real world after working together on FX’s Fargo.The pair appeared on season 3 of the anthology crime drama, which debuted in April 2017. The duo sparked a romance while playing onscreen lovebirds in season 3 of Fargo.

Seven years after tying the knot, Winstead split from Stearns. "Sitting here with my best friend who I love with all my heart. We have spent our lives together and it has been full of joy and warmth every day. We've decided to move on from our marriage, but we will stay best friends and collaborators for all our days," the actress wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post. "We are still ride or die, just in a different way now. I love you always, Riley."

Winstead and McGregor were spotted packing on the PDA in London, with an eyewitness telling Us at the time, "They were deep in conversation and were there together for more than an hour." TMZ later revealed that McGregor and Mavrakis had separated in May 2017.

After being announced as the Best Lead Actor in a Limited Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television winner at the 75th annual Golden Globes, McGregor thanked his Fargo costar. "There would have been no Ray without Mary Elizabeth Winstead," he gushed.

While promoting the show, Winstead revealed the one downside to her working with her husband in the role was his mustache. “For the first few months I did [like it], then the novelty wore off a little bit,” she confessed during the March 11 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

McGregor understood his wife’s lackluster response to his facial hair, noting he had to keep the mustache for more than a year when Hollywood went on strike and the show postponed filming.

“I love you with any facial hair,” Winstead later confessed during their joint interview, to which McGregor responded, “That’s so sweet.”

Winstead then told Jimmy Fallon that playing McGregor’s “romantic liaison” in the drama was “so much fun” since he is her “actual love.”
